I want to tell you about the Farmers Market in Mesa. I go there last weekend. It is very fun and I see many things. I never go there before. I think it is good to write what I see and what I feel. Maybe you also want to go there someday.

The market is outside. There are many tables and small tents. People sell vegetables, fruits, bread, flowers, and more things. The sun is very hot but people smile. Many people come. They bring bags. Some bring kids. Some come with dogs. Everyone looks happy.

I see one man sell big red tomatoes. They are very shiny. He tells me they are from his own garden. He says, “These tomatoes grow in the sun here. They are sweet. Do you want to try?” I try one slice. It is very good. It is better than the tomato in the store.

Next I see a woman sell honey. She has many jars. The honey is golden. She says the bees make it in Mesa. The honey is natural. She lets me taste it. It is sweet and soft. I buy one small jar to take home.

There are also flowers. So many colors. Yellow, pink, white, purple. They smell good. I see some people buying flowers for their home. The woman who sells flowers says, “They make your day happy.” I think she is right.

I also see bread. The bread smells so nice. The man cuts small pieces and lets people try. I try one bread with cheese inside. It is warm and soft. I buy one bread. He puts it in a paper bag for me.

At the market there is music too. One man plays guitar and sings. His songs are soft and slow. Some people stop to listen. Some kids dance a little. It feels nice to hear music while walking.

I also see other things. There is soap. There is candle. There is one table that has pictures and art. I think many people work hard to make these things. They are proud to show and sell them.

One thing I like is the people. They are very kind. The sellers talk to you. They tell you about what they sell. They tell you how they grow it or make it. They answer your questions. In the store you don’t talk much. But here you can talk.

The price is not very cheap. But I think it is okay. Because the food is fresh. It is from here, not from far away. And you help the farmers and makers.

I walk around for about one hour. I buy some tomato, honey, bread, and flowers. I feel happy. I feel like I see real Mesa. Not just the big stores and streets. But the people who live here and make things with their hands.

When I go home, I think about the market. I think I want to go again next week. Maybe I can try new fruits or new bread. Maybe I can bring a friend. I want to show them the market.
